Hunter's Innovation Team
Hunter’s award-winning innovation team is responsible for hundreds of patented and exclusive features that make Hunter the most productive undercar service equipment available. Comprised of over 120+ engineers and support staff, Hunter’s innovation team is the largest wheel service engineering staff in the world. In October 2019, Hunter became the first company in the undercar equipment industry to reach the milestone of being granted its 300th patent.
Hunter was an early innovator in electronic instrumentation for automotive service. For decades, Hunter’s electrical engineers have produced high-quality alignment systems, tire changers, wheel balancers, brake lathes and inspection equipment. Hunter’s electrical engineers continue to assure high-quality products, like Quick Check Drive® and Quick Tread Edge®, through stress tests and advancements in Hunter’s Research and Development center.
Hunter’s software engineers develop, design, and test award-winning, easy-to-use patented sofware. With the release of WinAlign® in the early nineties, Hunter was the first in the industry to create a Windows®-based vehicle alignment system. Thirty years later, updated WinAlign® software continues to power HawkEye Elite® and Quick Check Drive® technology.
Since the debut of Hunter’s mechanical wheel balancer, Hunter’s mechanical engineers have developed the finest undercar service equipment. Hunter’s mechanical engineers provide solutions to industry challenges by employing computer aided design technology to meticlously create, analyze and test equipment like the Revolution® tire changer and Road Force® Elite wheel balancer.
To remain the technology leader in the industry, Hunter must get groundbreaking innovation to market quickly. Our in-house model shop includes state of the art welding, forming, CNC machining and 3D printing capabilities to produce a wide array of prototypes that can turn ideas into working models quickly. The Hunter model shop also produces tooling and fixturing for Hunter factories.

Hunter employs the largest quality assurance team in the industry. Every Hunter product undergoes months of intense quality testing prior to release to ensure accuracy and durability.
Once a new product has passed all of the stringent testing and is released to production, the quality team in each plant works with the design and manufacturing teams to develop processes and tests to ensure every unit that leaves our plant is perfect. Quality is the job of every team member in the plant, from careful inspection of parts and raw materials at receiving to packing the finished product. It’s our mission to deliver a product that will be perfect out of the box and deliver years of reliable service.
